CROSS-CULTURAL MINISTRY TRAINING:

We believe God’s heart is to see His name known and worshiped in every corner of the world. We believe every follower of Jesus is qualified and expected to testify about Him to those whom God has placed in our sphere of influence. We believe this means every follower of Jesus must cross cultural bridges at some point, so the Good News does not stay just with those people who are like us.

Our desire is to see African churches sending African missionaries to the ends of the earth. We believe this means God’s Spirit is already at work among His people here in East Africa to call some out for ministry among the nations. Let us come along beside you and share what we have learned over decades of experience working cross-culturally. We are not a sending agency, nor can we fund your ministry.

But what we can do is to teach you to be a good learner of culture—how to ask the right questions, listen to and understand the answers, and learn how to bridge cultural divides for the sake of Jesus. You will learn the necessity of abiding in Christ as you focus on each of the six components of the Missionary Task: entry, evangelism, discipleship, church planting, leadership development, and exit to partnership.

The training is open for men and women; pastors, church leaders, and church members – We all have a role to play!

Missions College

Missions College is for both pastoral and lay leadership, including all active members who are passionate to see God glorified among the nations. Gather a team together from your congregation and come to the Lead Global training center for this 3-day conference, to spend focused time studying a topic of your choice. There will be times of worship and fellowship, time for study, and time for team reflection about how to implement God’s vision for your church.

Tracks include:

  • Eight Steps to Sending Missionaries Well – This track requires a minimum of five from your church: at least one pastor, lay person, young adult, senior and woman. This track is required for any church wanting to send a missionary with the International Mission Board (IMB) Global Missionary Partner (GMP) program.
  • Trauma Healing – Based on the life of Joseph. Learn more about trauma and how to walk together with others to heal the heart wounds that life can inflict. You will be equipped to teach Trauma Healing to others in your community.
  • Compassion Ministries/Community Development– Learn from specialists how to minister to people impacted by disasters, and about the care of vulnerable children. The focus will be on helping reunite and strengthen families, rather than institutionalize children.
  • Next Generation Engagement – We want to empower and support our children. Learn how to disciple children and engage children and youth with the Gospel in age-appropriate ways, to build up the next generation and see them follow Christ.
  • Evangelism Training – Learn the essential components of the Gospel message, and ways to share it effectively. The gospel never changes, but the ways in which we share it can!
  • Healthy Church – What does a healthy church look like? What does God expect of us as the Bride of Christ? Learn what your church can do to be the healthiest possible Bride. Celebrate victories and strategize how to minimize weaknesses.

Explore the Call – A Missions Conference

What does the call to missions look like? What is the work of a missionary? What must the character of a missionary be?

We will answer these questions and more with an in-depth Bible Study. You will learn what God says about cross-cultural ministry and His expectation to get the Good News to all nations, tribes, people, and languages (Rev 7:9).

This is a free 1-day conference, with breakfast and lunch included. We will discuss next steps for helping you fulfill God’s call on your life if that call includes cross-cultural ministry.

July 12 (Nairobi), August 1-3 (in Mombasa), and September 27 (Nairobi)
